Recent years have seen vast strides forward in the treatment of HIV; biomedical scientists have begun to understand the way this devastating virus and subsequent illness, AIDS, work and exploited them when developing new treatments. We’ll be hearing how Dr Hendrik Huthoff investigates how HIV hijacks the host it infects to support replication and multiplication, and how Dr John Cason is uncovering the secrets of treatment-resistant HIV through his work at the Infectious Diseases Biobank, King’s College London.
We'll also be playing Biology Bingo, the best bingo-based Biology quiz in town, so put your thinking caps on and don't miss this chance to win some Pint of Science swag!
